Warne praises Kashmiri boy's 'ball of the century'

Shane Warne took notice of a seven-year-old boy from Kashmir, who has taken the internet by storm with his bowling. A video of the boy has been circulating on social media site Twitter. Journalist Islah Mufti had shared the same, asking Warne to take a look. And the former Australian spin legend was left in awe of the kid. Here's more.

Details about 7-year-old Ahmad

According to Mufti, the name of the child is Ahmad. He is a 7-year-old from Ganderbal district of Kashmir. One can observe from the video how Ahmad applies saliva on the ball in order to get more shine on one side. He turned the ball square and the celebration in getting the wicket was huge. Ahmad could be a prodigy.

Warne discussed Ahmad's googly on live television show

According to a report in CricketNext, Ahmad's family stay in United Arab Emirates for last 14 years. His father Nawab Ali works in an insurance company and his mother is a teacher in a local school. ''I broke the news to Ahmad that Shane Warne had discussed his googly that he had bowled on a live television show. He was ecstatic,'' said an excited Ali.

Warne known for his 'Ball of the Century'

Warne announced himself in the first ball of his career, against England, in the Ashes series in 1993. He dismissed Mike Gatting from round his legs which was then termed as the 'Ball of the Century'. Richie Benaud went on to describe back then that Warne's delivery was "the most beautiful delivery". The ball went to clip Gatting's off-stump after pitching on leg.
