Peter Handscomb: News
Peter Handscomb is an Australian cricket player and a part-time wicket-keeper who has played for Australia in T20Is, ODI matches, and Test matches. The right-handed batsman has also played in the Australian Big Bash League for the T20 franchise cricket team called Hobart Hurricanes. Handscomb has played 16 Test matches and 22 ODIs in his cricket career. Initially, he played junior-level tennis but later switched to cricket. He started his cricket career while playing in the Victorian Premier League for the St. Kilda Cricket Club. He had represented Victoria in Under-17 and Under-19 categories. Following this, he played for Australia’s Under-19 team during the team’s Sri Lanka tour in 2009. Handscomb gained recognition during the 2013-14 season of first-class cricket where he scored three centuries. He made his Test debut against South Africa in 2016 where he scored 399 runs in four matches. His ODI debut came in 2017 against Pakistan where he scored 82 runs. Handscomb is the only player to score over fifty runs in each of his first seven Test matches.
