The ACU investigation involves six players from the Bangladesh national team, two uncapped Bangladeshi players, and two foreign cricketers. Franchises under scrutiny include Durbar Rajshahi and Dhaka Capitals, both flagged 12 times for integrity concerns. Meanwhile, Sylhet Strikers and Chittagong Kings are also under the scanner with six and two flags respectively.

BCB president's stance on ongoing investigation
Speaking to Cricbuzz, BCB President Faruque Ahmed said that he cannot make an official comment until the investigation is completed, as per protocol. He stressed that if any wrongdoing is uncovered during the investigation, the punishment will be severe and life-changing for those involved. Additionally, Ahmed vowed not to spare anyone found guilty, promising an exemplary decision once and for all.

BPL's history with match-fixing controversies
Notably, match-fixing isn't new to BPL, which has been marred by such controversies since its inception in 2012. Former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful received an eight-year ban (with three years suspended) from the BPL anti-corruption tribunal for match and spot-fixing during the 2013 season. This scandal compelled the BCB to postpone the 2014 edition of the tournament.
